The Red RoomThe odour of public urinal was so pungent it was like stepping into a physical barrier. Opting to breathe through my mouth rather than my nose only convinced me I could taste the feculence at the back of my throat. The thought would have made a lesser person gip, well, even more than I was.The Red Room by EscaBowmer
The cubicles that lined the walls were pine green against dank red walls, Christmassy. Well it would have been if the spirit of Christmastide had just crawled forth from the Bog of Eternal Stench. Labyrinth, great film, Muppets and Bowie tunes. I directed all thoughts at the smell 'You have no power over me'. It was worth a shot.
The room rattled with the thrum of a passing lorry, the service stations bathrooms obviously back up to the A1. The sound of running water issued from a clogged sink, toilet paper had been stuffed into the plug hole, because that was a smart use of time. A pall of grime seemed to coat everything and I really didn't want to make skin contact with anything. The dark sh

THE SUN COUNTRY
There is a story among gazelles, if you care to listen for such things, that tells of a beautiful land in the Sun. It is bright and peaceful, and so lovely that it gives light to all the broken world below it. Young Azza has been told this story from birth, as a child's tale; and she believes every word of it. She dreams of finding this mythic paradise; and guided by the noble hawk Haytham, she sets out on an epic journey across deserts, jungles, and heat-scorched savanna in order to prove to herself what she is so sure is true.
"Oh, help me, Haytham," Azza whispered with a shudder.
Without a word, the hawk lifted from his place on her horn and flew, slowly, defiantly, into that nothingness. Though he was grim in his defiance, each flap of his wings seemed to alter that bone-chilling landscape in a subtle, unchangeable way. For where there was nothing, there was suddenly now something, and that something was Haytham- noble, st
'Two for Joy' ExcerptA lone creature raced through the fresh briny waters, cool and turbid with the tidal squalls and quiet strength of the ocean currents. Weightlessly he soared over an alien and unexplored landscape, one last refuge yet to be encroached upon by mankind. The loose shingle of the island shores made chiming music as the receding froth pulled the debris back into the mysterious expanse. Men waited on the pebble covered beach and watched as the lone creature shrank against the horizon.'Two for Joy' Excerpt by EscaBowmer
In a blissful state the solitary traveller paid no mind to those waiting on the land, he had a playful streak that was hard to quell once free from his cumbersome other form. With a thick yet streamlined body for insulation from the chill and perfect for speed, this furry seal was perfectly at home. His coat was dappled and coloured so he blended with the stony shores. Large black eyes and long whiskers were alert to his surroundings - seeing and sensing every movement in the vicinity. The waters beneath the wa

The two letters had come in the same post. They sat one on top of the other on the polished surface of the hall table, placed there carefully so that the corners lined up. At first Edgar had thought there was only a letter from Baden, but then he saw the other underneath. It had been redirected from Westernthorpe. As soon as he saw it he put down the letter from Baden and applied the paper knife to that envelope instead.
Was it possible for paper to be so new and so flat that it looked as if it had been pressed? The only creases were where it had been folded for the envelope. There were no blots from the ink and the type was crisp and clear. His eyes scanned down the letter, taking in the relevant words.

Tristan laid a hand on the prince’s shoulder and gave him a slightly toothless grin. Of course, he assumed that they would be testing in the same group, but when the lady Cathada started separating all the children into groups she made a point of placing them in different groups. Even when Tristan opened his mouth to complain, Cathada silenced him with an expression that only a seasoned teacher knew how to use. Eli did not mind the placement two of them , after all, he would being seeing his friend again in an hour or two. Tristan, however, crossed his arms and pouted his lips as he trudged over to the little flock of children, he was told to go to. What he saw made him grumpier.
Zeena was just as unhappy to find that horrid boy in her testing group as Tristan was to look up and see that strange rat girl would b

Just as quickly as the entered the world of Poor Man’s Market, they returned to their own world, the Palace Sanction. Tristan shuffled to the other side of the carriage when it halted in front of the grassy commons where all the boy’s future classmates were. The guard that had been escorting them all day opened the door of the gilded carriage and bowed as Crown Prince Elijah and Tristan Fabian climbed down onto the greenery with their tiny eight year old feet. Everyone in the courtyard hushed their conversations to gaze at the young prince. Many of little girls’ fathers instructed them to be extra sweet to the prince in hopes of him favoring her for a wife. ‘Never too young to start,’ their fathers would say. In fact, every child of nobility or royalty was told to befriend the prince to try win
Black voidsA black void escapes my lips.Black voids by Zaiav
As the infection of pain takes over.
I’m screaming to an empty room.
In it lays all my fears.
My eyes are filled with parasites.
Seeing nothing but black.
Which leaks it’s way into my heart.
Trembling fingers, and sweaty palms.
Bugs clinging to my hair.
Nesting in my skin.
I have been contaminated.
By the sins of others.
Nobody can harm me now.
I have been contaminated
By the whispers of the heartless.
Reaching forth for some light.
It only seems to burn my skin.
My right eye has been removed.
And left with a hole.
Head spinning round’ and round.
Sitting in this dirty contaminated room.
A perfect fit for me.
NaNiWriMo extra: MaiaThe dusty Oklahoma dirt puffed up in little dust devils as I walked up the drive to my house. Thunder rumbled and lightening cracked through the summer sky, the scent of an oncoming storm filled the air.NaNiWriMo extra: Maia by XxDaughterOfApolloxX
"dammit" I said under my breath as I ran quicker up the dusty path. Grams was smiling at me from the screen door waiting for me to get inside.
Hopefully I can get in the house before the rain starts I thought at the first drops of rain hit my head. I ran faster. Thankfully, I got on the porch just as the rain started to pour from the heavens, giving the dying ground a well-deserved drink. I let out a pent up sigh as the weight of the day lifted off my very tired shoulders. Rain meant no night chores for me outside tonight. Lighting lit up the now blackish green sky. "One Mississippi two Mississippi three Mississippi four Mississippi Thunder shook the house as the storm started to catch up to itself a bit.
"Four miles away" A voice suggested from behind me.
Beta Readers and Camp NaNoWriMo?Don't know what NaNoWriMo is? It's National Novel Writing Month! You write a novel in a month, that means 1,677 words a day or a page and a half in a word document. Your goal is to hit 50,000 words at the end of the month. You don't have to worry about spelling or grammar, just how much you write. (You edited after the event). It's held every November online here;; http://nanowrimo.org/en/dashboard and it's a lot of fun! However, there is also a 'practice' camp version found ONLINE here;; https://campnanowrimo.org/sign_in and this year (2014) They are hosting it in APRIL and JULY and I -really- wanna practice and get started.Beta Readers and Camp NaNoWriMo? by P0NY-EXPRESS
So, I was curious if anyone here on dA was going to do it and maybe we could support one another? I already know about the various dA groups for this event, but I'm looking more into those I watch and people who watch me in this community I'm already apart of. I'm probably going to start writing or at least planning early, since it's only the 'camp' version
The Phantom Of DreamsThat long night which remained calm,The Phantom Of Dreams by MorganWolfram
The wind was too cool to keep warm.
Through my window like a blossom he arose,
And made his way to my bed and hand me a white rose.
His ever green eyes shined like an emerald,
With my teddy in amazement I cuddled.
His cape was long and as dark as coal,
As a phantom he played a great role.
He wore a dark magician’s hat,
Before he spoke; on my head he would pat.
“Greeting, my little girl”,
“You remind me of an enchanted pearl”.
Through his marvelous words; he would flatter,
I would have a leisure listening to his chatter.
Through the window the breeze blew in
And pink cherry blossoms it would bring.
He would hide his face under a masquerade mask,
By playing the violin he would complete his task.
The melody played sounded sweeter then a heart beat,
It could even raise angels upon their feet.
From his soul I could feel a celestial glow
At this moment I never felt low.
Then he bent down to his knees
And caught my hand in abs
Only youAnother day passes slowlyOnly you by MorganWolfram
Life keeps on fading quietly
My years have been spend worthlessly
With no feeling fraternity
I walk my way solemnly
Make my path formally
All eyes lay on me respectfully
I'm treated like the great solely
But I owe them back disgracefully
I put them aside disdainfully
I whip my worries mercilessly
I am a powerful weapon ultimately
But my bullets are stunned by you so suddenly
Your Kindness shoed away my troubles so charmingly
You helped me upon my feet willingly
You expected nothing back unconditionally
From that moment my mind was on you individually
Even with all the fuss; you smile caringly
Pain was caused and you suffered sensitively
But you said regrets will go gradually
I don't care if there is no money surprisingly
You changed me astonishingly
I won't let a burden fall on you, even mistakenly
How can you be so gentle admiringly?
Don't hesitate to hold my hand tightly
But please keep smiling constantly
My eyes shall remain for you promisingly
I shall love
Special NaNoWriMo fun- read my stories! This year for NaNoWriMo I'm rewriting the third book in my Rejects series I've been working with for ages. I'd like to post my writing from each day again this year like I did last year, because that keeps me motivated regardless of whether or not people read it. Since this is the third book in the series, I figured I might as well share my first two so people could read them first. Keep in mind these are rough, rough drafts with typos and a few gaps and things (and I think neither of them has an official ending), but they'll give you enough of an idea of what's going on if you want to keep up with me during NaNoWriMo.Special NaNoWriMo fun- read my stories! by AngelAndChangeling
The links are here, and will be kept up for the month of November only before they'll be closed again. If at that time you've started reading them and are interested in reading more, you can note me and I can make you one of the people with permission to view it!

She and Her WolfDearest sweet redShe and Her Wolf by MorganWolfram
I will come for you, my lamb.
For our unkind fate to be fed,
The basket you hold is my jamb.
I will steal you as you smile, my pet.
To calm my growls you had once set.
Oh wanderer of the dim lit wood,
How you carry the weight of this sagging forest,
And my false pretense voice under that hood.
Let me sink my jaws again into you're quest.
Ride once more when I howl! Satisfy this thirst.
Let me see you grin....in fear, like you should have at first!
But you tore me, crooked soul of that lumber jack;
Away to the other side of damned life and luck.
My silent body you filled of stone; drowned back
To soil who raised the flowers I had asked you to pluck.
My love, beware!
I will always be by your side to scare.
